Tips and Tricks to clean and maintain your SNOO whilst you are using it:

Cleaning and maintaining the mesh

When maintaining the mesh on your SNOO, it's common to encounter messes like vomit. For cleaning, gently spot clean with a soft, clean cloth, warm water, and mild, baby-safe cleaner. Prompt cleaning is key to prevent stains from setting in. It's crucial not to remove the mesh for soaking or washing, as this could damage your SNOO. For more stubborn marks, a bit of baby-safe stain remover can be used for spot cleaning. Remember, never use bleach or abrasive cleaners.

In case of liquid spills on or inside the SNOO, swiftly dry it using a towel or sponge, and follow the suggested cleaning method. Ensure the SNOO is completely dry before putting back the mattress and baby. If needed, a hairdryer on a cool or warm setting (never hot) can be used to hasten the drying process.

Cleaning Between the Mesh and Base

To clean between the mesh panels of your SNOO, first find the zipper at the head of the bassinet and unzip it. This will allow you to access the area between the panels. To remove hidden dust or particles, use a duster or a narrow vacuum nozzle, which are effective for reaching into these confined spaces.

Additionally, while you're attending to this, take the opportunity to wipe down the platform. For this task, use disinfectant wipes that are safe for use in hospitals, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness. Don't forget to also clean the SNOO base and legs, maintaining the overall hygiene and appearance of your SNOO Smart Bassinet. This comprehensive approach helps to ensure a clean and safe sleeping environment for your baby.

Cleaning the Mattress and Mattress Cover

The SNOO mattress is equipped with a water-resistant cover, designed to minimise stains and contamination. Nonetheless, it's crucial to regularly inspect inside the mattress cover for any moisture signs. In case of spills or leaks, promptly clean them using disinfectant wipes safe for hospital use.

For cleaning the mattress cover:

  1. Remove the cover.

  2. Machine wash it in warm water, ideally with light-coloured items to prevent any colour transfer.

  3. Avoid washing with coloured items to prevent discolouration.

  4. For drying, hang it on a clothesline. If you're in a hurry, you can use the lowest heat setting or a delicate cycle in the dryer. Remember to remove it promptly once dry.

If the mattress itself requires cleaning:

  1. Use mild soap and warm water for cleaning.

  2. Allow it to air dry thoroughly before placing it back in the mattress cover.

If for whatever reason you're unable to clean the mattress, you're able to buy a replacement one online.

These steps will help maintain the cleanliness and longevity of your SNOO mattress, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for your baby.

Cleaning your SNOO Sacks

In the absence of nappy leaks or spit-up / vomit incidents, the SNOO Sack and sheets can be washed together using baby-safe laundry detergent. When machine washing the SNOO Sack, do so with items of similar colours, either in warm or cold water. It's important to steer clear of hot water and chlorine bleach to preserve the fabric's integrity.

Before placing the SNOO Sack in the washing machine:

  1. Fasten the Velcro wings together.

  2. Zip up the sack completely.

This prevents the velcro from attaching to and potentially damaging other items in the wash.

For drying, you have two options:

  1. Air dry the SNOO Sack and sheets.

  2. Use a tumble dryer on a low heat setting.

Ensure that everything is thoroughly dry before reuse. This approach helps maintain the quality of your baby's SNOO Sack and sheets, whilst ensuring their cleanliness and safety.
